Incoming II
2003, 23.75 in x 36 in
Edition of 5
This incoming predatory Skua image is the first in a series of etchings created with several layers of nitric acid hand-painted onto lacquer-aquatinted zinc. Although abstracted and simplified, the image shows the most realistic version of the Skua, with facial details that resemble the actual Antarctic bird species that is known to aggressively prey upon, hunt and stalk the eggs and the vulnerable chicks of penguins.
